On February 9, 2009 Eluana died. It took 6233 days because his father could release it and say goodbye; seventeen years of life suspended between life and death, during which Beppino Englaro has quit her job and has immersed himself in the cards. He studied codes and regulations, has taken part in conferences and met with politicians, lawyers and theologians in an attempt to understand how to give voice to his daughter, enforce his will and always along the path of legality. Its been years with no respite, no pause, no means of escape or refuge from the violence of an artificial life Eluana tax by a state ethics which can lead to depriving fundamental freedoms of its own citizens. In this book the author brings back the memories and letters of his daughter, and recounts the last months of her life through its own history of men Reserved, forced by events to convey a silent people every day in hospitals, it poses simple questions and expect answers human, and instead abandoned the policy in a limbo of suffering. A battle in which Englaro is still committed to care because freedom is a collective value, because the law respects the individual and not give it to others if not to himself the right to decide their own health.
