La lettera di Pier Luigi Bersani al circolo Pd di Montichiari che nei giorni scorsi si è visto rifiutare dal Sindaco la disponibilità di una piazza per celebrare il 25 aprile.
Cari cittadini e cittadine di Montichiari ho appreso dalla lettura dei giornali che la giunta della vostra città ha negato la possibilità di celebrare il 25 Aprile e il Primo Maggio sospendendo, di fatto, un diritto sancito dalla nostra Costituzione. Questo è molto grave, ma ancor più grave è l’intenzione di voler cancellare con un divieto una memoria che deve essere considerata patrimonio comune di tutto il popolo italiano.
I valori del 25 Aprile sono scritti nella nostra Carta Costituzionale che è la più bella del mondo, e lo è perché sancì un patto tra uomini e donne di idee e convincimenti anche profondamente diversi tra loro, ma che li vide uniti dall’idea di disegnare un futuro comune e libero per tutti gli italiani.
Questo esempio e questa memoria dovrebbero rappresentare un orientamento di fondo per chi è chiamato, a tutti i livelli di responsabilità, a ricoprire un ruolo al servizio del bene comune. Tanto più nel momento in cui le forze politiche affermano di volersi impegnare per rinnovare quel patto. Rinnovare, perché di questo si tratta. Rinnovare un patto per costruire una nuova unità dell’Italia. Rinnovare per sentirci cittadini di un unico paese. Deep values, then, delivered to us because they have been reborn in the spring of April 25 and we have a duty to bring a torch into the future as precious to be transmitted to new generations.
